Utilizing Technology to Modify for Students with
Special Needs |
This presentation comes from my experiences of
working through the Reading Rods books with my students who are
struggling readers. I will show the steps I took to bring a
good reading program into a program that was modified to meet
the needs of my students. Steps will include failures and
partial successes as well as the final steps that I continue to
use. Steps include moving from fill-in the blank tests printed
for the students, to tests with drop down lists to be completed
on the computer to working on comprehension tests on the
computer using PowerPoint. In addition, use of a webcam/video
cam to read the books to the students will be shown. This
program is designed to be very much like what I will present at
TCEA in February. |
